The Greatest Noir Story of all Time!
Special Guest Star:
Lynne Stewart, star of "PeeWee's Playhouse" and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" joins the cast of Fake Radio for the third show of our 2019 season in both PDX and Hillsboro.
In 1941, Humphrey Bogart and Mart Astor lit up the screen with John Huston’s masterpiece “The Maltese Falcon”. The film won three Academy Award Nominations and grossed nearly $1 million at the box office, a massive sum for its era. It cemented Bogart as the biggest star of the decade and remains, to this day, one of the best known film noir classics.
In 1943, The Lux Radio Theater presented their version of the Dashiell Hammett classic, starring Edward G. Robinson as Sam Spade. 76 years later, Fake Radio is thrilled to recreate the entire 1943 CBS radio broadcast — commercials and all! — with our special guest star Lynne Stewart, from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “PeeWee’s Playhouse”.
